Earlier this year, industrial hose specialist Truco announced it had started manufacturing stainless steel braided hose at its Chamdor campus in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

Initial capabilities are for hose assemblies from 6 mm to 25 cm in diameter.

Stainless steel braided hoses offer a number of benefits, including being able to withstand a full vacuum and operate at high pressure.

Further benefits include being fire-resistant, boasting a wide temperature range and resistance to most chemicals.

Other hose types will melt when exposed to fire while stainless steel braided hose maintains its integrity up to 649 °C.

Truco’s stainless steel braided hoses are ideal for use across a range of industries, including mining, oil and gas, petroleum, chemical, power generation, water treatment as well as heating, ventilation and air conditioning and in steel mills.

Truco will also stock a complete range of stainless-steel hose fittings to suit the braided hose.

Notably, the company started operations in mid-January 2022 to meet the growing demand for stainless steel braided hoses in various market segments across Africa.

“Truco seeks to offer clients a turnkey fluid and materials handling solution, thus the addition of the stainless steel braided hose division will bring us one step closer to achieving this goal,” says Truco technical manager Shaun Whiteside.

With almost 40 years’ experience in the design and manufacture of various hose types, Whiteside will oversee the new workshop operation manned by newly appointed specialist welders.

This new division will allow Truco to expand its footprint in Africa, further entrenching itself as the preferred supplier of fluid transfer and handling products in the various market segments it currently services.

Truco’s customers benefit from access to this “one-stop” hose supplier, that already boasts a range of fluid handling hose.

Truco supplies high-quality stainless steel braided hose for the toughest industrial fluid transfer applications.

The robust stainless steel hose is the optimum solution for applications where high temperature and flammability, chemical compatibility and maximum reliability are required.

Notably, a variety of lengths, sizes and connectors to suit client's requirements are available on a short lead time and with fast delivery.

The new hoses are being manufactured in accordance with internationally recognised quality standards and are ISO 9001- accredited.
