Ndolovu brings a deep passion for professional development and a well-established track record in education and training to the not-for-profit organisation. Based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, he has more than a decade of experience in research, consulting and capacity building. He specialises in issues around trade, industrialisation and supply chain development across the African continent.

A committed Pan-Africanist, Ndlovu believes in the transformative potential of logistics and supply chain management to support the growth of regional value chains and unlock Africa’s industrial and trade competitiveness. He has led numerous executive short courses and masterclasses, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders and academics to shape strategies for building competitive and inclusive manufacturing value chains in Africa.

In addition to his role at SAPICS, Ndlovu serves as the Illovo Academic Head of African Trade and Industrialisation at the Toyota Wessels Institute for Manufacturing Studies (TWIMS) and as an Adjunct Faculty member at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), University of Pretoria.

His focus as SAPICS’ general manager is on building a strong community of professionals, developing a pipeline of supply chain skills and raising the profile of the profession to ensure that it is recognised as a key driver of Africa’s economic growth and integration.

SAPICS president Thato Moloi comments: “This is an exciting time for SAPICS as we harness the renewed energy and vision that Mbongeni brings to accelerate our mission to elevate, educate and empower the community of supply chain professionals in South Africa and across the continent. We are delighted to welcome Mbongeni to the team and work with him to build Africa’s supply chain future.”
