Continued collaborative efforts between mining houses, government and mining communities, goes a long way in achieving a sustainable mining sector. Intelligence Transfer Centre is hosting the 10th Annual Social and Labour Plan Conference on 28 & 29 June 2023 at Gallagher Estate, Midrand.
With 9 successful SLP Conferences under our belt, ITC is determined to continue forming strong working relationships with the mining sector. While focusing on the importance of SLPs, the objective of this conference is to create a knowledge sharing platform in an effort to weigh-in on strategies that can be considered on how best to give back to mining communities, comply with set legislation and create a sustainable mining sector.
SLP experts and representatives from mining houses will share case studies, best practises, as well as facilitate interactive workshops at this conference.
Some of the topics to be covered at this event are as follows: Developing infrastructure programmes and contributing towards providing basic services like water, sanitation, housing and roads; SLPs as a vehicle for a just transition; Creating joint ventures with local SMMEs to allow continuous and sustainable development; Mine Community Development at Mine Closure; Discussing Trade Union’s contribution, influence and expectation on Social & Labour Plans; Discussing key challenges faced by mining houses with SLP Compliance to date, just to name a few.
ITC has recognised the need to host this conference focusing on the importance of SLP’s and assisting mining companies with their day-to-day compliance efforts. Attend this conference and gain key strategies on how best to give back to mining communities, comply with set legislation and create a sustainable mining sector.
