More than 90% of water used in mineral processing facilities is recovered, which means that mines use very little fresh water, says South African process equipment sales and manufacturing company MIP Process Technologies.

This, explains MD Philip Hoff, is why the company can provide a full range of dewatering equipment, thus a “one-stop shop”, for customers who need to recover, recycle and re-use water.

The company also has its own fabrication facility, which he adds means “better service and better quality control”.

“Our products are custom-designed and robust, which means that each application is considered before special design criteria are applied,” Hoff adds, noting that MIP also provides gas cleaning equipment, which assists with pollution.

MIP Process, which has seen an improvement in its turnover to pre-pandemic levels, is currently busy with “numerous projects” in the platinum group metals industry in South Africa.

The company is also confident that new products, that were small sellers before, are now getting traction.
