US-focused exploration and development company NevGold has secured a permitting milestone with the approval of its plan of operations for the Limousine Butte project by the Bureau of Land Management.

This approval allows for an expanded scope of exploration activities, including drilling, across 80 ha of the site, from the previous 6 ha permitted under three separate exploration notices.

The newly approved plan paves the way for an expanded drilling campaign at Limousine Butte, scheduled for 2025. The company aims to further delineate and extend known gold mineralisation at key areas such as Resurrection Ridge and Cadillac Valley, both of which have shown promising results in prior exploration.

In addition to its gold-focused efforts, NevGold intends to explore the untapped base metals potential in the region, particularly near the Butte Valley copper porphyry target (held by Freeport-McMoRan) and the Selena CRD target (held by South32).

Following the exploration, NevGold plans to update its mineral resource estimate.

In other news, NevGold announced the appointment of Greg French as VP of exploration. A seasoned geologist based in Reno, French brings over 30 years of diverse exploration experience in the western US and Canada. He will succeed Derick Unger, who is stepping down to join a senior gold producer.
