Proudly South African technical textiles, personal protective equipment and advanced wound care products manufacturer Beier Group has announced the appointment of Warren Sachs as Group CEO, effective as of July, this year.

Sachs is an experienced executive with close to three decades of experience in the manufacturing industry across various technical and leadership roles.

“The foundation laid by Beier board chairperson Wolfgang Beier and the vision established by the Beier family have positioned us well for the future,” says Sachs.

He adds the manufacturing industry is a key driver of economic growth and job creation, which South Africa, as a country, needs “now more than ever”.

“I aim to make manufacturing an industry of choice for the youth, and attract, develop and retain talent to ensure the future prosperity of not only the Beier Group, but South Africa as a whole,” he enthuses.

Sachs is a professional engineer who recently received his Master of Business Administration with distinction from business school Gordon Institute of Business Science.

“I am committed to driving growth and innovation while upholding the values of the Beier Group,” he stresses, adding that under his leadership, Beier will focus on several strategic priorities, including continuing its digital transformation to ensure that the company remains at the forefront of technological advancements in the manufacturing sector.

Sachs’ personal mission is to “leave the company better than I found it”, and his philosophy reflects his commitment to continuous improvement and development for both people and processes. He says he strives to foster an environment that supports sustainable growth and operational excellence.

In addition to his role as Group CEO, Sachs serves on several company boards, including the Toyota Wessels Institute of Manufacturing Studies Alumni Board and tertiary institution University of KwaZulu-Natal’s Mechanical Engineering Advisory Board.

Sachs is also involved with a nonprofit organisation aimed at teacher training and leadership development of school management teams.

Commenting on Sachs’ appointment, Beier says that Sachs is perfectly poised to lead the Beier Group to new heights and drive its corporate agenda.
