Earthmoving equipment supplier HPE Africa foresees significant demand for the four new high-performance mobile cone crushers, with improved cone chambers, added to its range of McCloskey crushing and screening equipment.

“These units will be ideal for local road tenders expected for release in due course,” says HPE in reference to the upcoming upgrades to the N2 from Lovu river on the South Coast to eMdloti on the North Coast and the N3 freeway from Durban to Pietermaritzburg, in KwaZulu-Natal.

Launched in July this year, the McCloskey C2R, C2, C3 and C4 cone crushers have been designed for secondary and tertiary crushing, mainly in aggregate processing and mining, with other applications in the demolition, construction, environmental and general industrial industries.

“There has been interest in these products from various applications such as quarrying, hard rock, sand and aggregates,” says HPE Africa.

McCloskey C2R recirculating cone crushers combine the productivity of the 38-inch cone with the versatility of a full screen and recirculating system, enabling the production of high-quality crushed and screened final product, explains the company.

The C2R is an entry-level cone, with full level features, including an antispin system, load and material level monitoring, fully hydraulic push-button closed side setting (CSS) adjust and a hydraulic relief system.

The five-feet-wide, ten-feet-long high-energy screenbox, which allows for greater control over the final product, has a user-friendly wedge design for faster screen changes, notes HPE Africa.

Another key feature is a feeder with a steel hopper and an adjustable feed rate, which is either controlled remotely or through fully automatic regulation, with feedback from the cone.

Portable C2 cone crushers provide dependable secondary crushing solutions for operators requiring performance rates of up to 300 t/h, says HPE Africa.

“This machine offers versatility in crushing spreads, with easy conversion from the finest to the coarsest cavity. “An adjustable speed facility produces a higher percentage of product according to specification, with fewer crushing stages, resulting in lower operating costs and reduced energy consumption. “There is a large gap between the crusher discharge and the main conveyor feedboot to prevent bottlenecking, ensuring an unobstructed material flow.”

McCloskey C3 mobile cone crushers, suitable for secondary crushing, produce materials from 9.5 mm to 44 mm in size, delivering stockpile heights of 3 887 mm. These units have a 48-inch cone and 328 kW engines. The dynamic CSS can be changed during operation, which reduces downtime.

Heavy-duty C4 units, with a 48-inch cone and 1 130 mm feed opening, have been designed to handle the toughest and most abrasive materials in mining, aggregates and recycling, says HPE Africa.

These cone crushers have an integrated hopper with a rear-folding door to facilitate direct loading and a direct crusher drive for increased power and lower fuel consumption. An open chassis allows for quick and easy maintenance procedures.

The C4 unit also has a dynamic CSS, which can be efficiently changed during operation and a feeder with a steel hopper and an adjustable feed rate, which is either controlled remotely or through fully automatic regulation, with feedback from the cone. The robust crushing chamber, which withstands operation in arduous conditions, produces materials from 9 mm to 50 mm in size.

HPE Africa’s McCloskey range also includes modular and mobile jaw and impact crushers, trommel and vibrating screeners, stacking conveyors and washing systems.

The company is also the exclusive local distributor for Hyundai Construction Equipment and Soosan hydraulic hammers and quick couplers.
