Mechanical pipe-joining system manufacturer Victaulic late last year introduced a threaded-end version of its popular Series 727 ball valve, a high-pressure, enhanced-port Class 600 NACE-compliant valve for upstream oil applications.

The valve, designed for tank and equipment connections, simplifies installation and maintenance and offers excellent flow characteristics.

Victaulic points out that the threaded-end Series 727 ball valve features a thread-by-groove configuration to maximise installation efficiency.

“The upstream side of the valve has a male threaded end for ease of connection to threaded outlets, while the downstream side has a grooved end, simplifying the transition to grooved piping systems,” the company explains.

The Series 727 ball valve is also available in a groove-by-groove configuration, with the two end configuration options increasing the valve’s versatility.

Further, the internal design of the Series 727 ball valve has been streamlined to provide superior flow characteristics, offering improved throughput. Following these adjustments, flow testing demonstrated up to one-third better flow than that of competitive standard port ball valves.

The two-piece valve also features a floating ball for lower torque requirements and is designed for full open or shut-off service. The valve is offered with an integral tamper-resistant lock and is available bare or with a lever handle.

The Series 727 ball valve can accommodate pressures of up to 1 500 psi, with the threaded-end valve being available in 80 mm and 100 mm sizes

.

The grooved-end valve is available in sizes ranging from 50 mm to 150 mm.

The standard ball and stem are electroless nickel-plated carbon steel; however, stainless steel is also an option.

In addition, a unidirectional ball that equalises upstream line pressure is also available, while the seat material is made of lubricated nylon.
