Following the introduction of the new Navara double-cab bakkie in June, Nissan South Africa has announced that it will round out the range with the launch of the single-cab derivative in October.

As is the case with the double cab, the single-cab pickup is produced at the Nissan Rosslyn plant, in Tshwane. The vehicle is also exported to markets in sub-Saharan Africa.

“The single cab comes with an impressive list of best-in-class features that makes it the perfect partner to get the job done right,” says Nissan South Africa marketing director Stefan Haasbroek.

“It also offers high levels of safety and security from the entry grade, including driver and passenger airbags as standard, as well as antilock braking and electronic brake-force distribution.”

The Navara single cab 2.5 l D0HC petrol engine (XE grade) has a maximum power of 118 kW and 233 Nm torque.

The 2.5 l diesel power-train comes in two levels of output.

The high output engine delivers 140 kW of power and 450 Nm torque. The mid-output engine (XE and SE grades) produces 120 kW of power and 403 Nm torque.

For those drivers using the vehicle as a work horse, the single-cab bakkie has a load capacity of up to 1144 kg, with a reinforced body and suspension.

The Navara single-cab bakkie comes standard with a warranty of six years/150 000 km, and a service plan of six years/90 000 km.

Pricing starts at R275 391.30, excluding VAT.
