Power supplier targets datacentres

DATACENTRIC Maintaining power is core to the successful running of data centres according to Aksa Power Generation
In realising that providing uninterrupted electrical energy is the backbone of a datacentre’s infrastructure, global generator manufacturer Aksa Power Generation launched its power range targeted at the requirements of a datacentre earlier this year.
The company suggests that companies need datacentres to store and secure large amounts of data. For this reason, datacentre operation is mission-critical to many of today’s most important businesses.
The most important precaution for datacentres to operate safely is to provide uninterrupted electrical energy. When there is a utility power outage, the generator will switch on and the client will be able to continue work safely and uninterruptedly.
Aksa Power Generation has responded to clients’ needs through delivering the best available technology and a support network offering tailormade and reliable solutions for clients when needed most.
In recent years, the datacentre has been growing with increasing momentum. As businesses and people continue to need secure cloud and data storage, the demand for reliable and uninterrupted electricity supply continues to increase. Aksa Power Generation offers the most suitable and reliable solutions for a client’s datacentre power needs with its generator options ranging from 550 kVA up to 3 000 kVA.
Regardless of the power rate – rated on a one to four tier system – or complexity of a client’s power needs for the datacentre, Aksa provides a reliable power source. The company manufactures and combines all the important components that use the industry's highest level of design and performance control.
The tier rating system is the industry standard for benchmarking datacentre reliability.
Aksa explains that the four tiers each build on the requirement of the one below, for example, tier two requires all of tier one capability, plus the added requirements.
Notably the tiers do not specify certain equipment, but rather a level of redundancy and security to maximise runtime.
Aksa Power Generation currently operates with three dynamic manufacturing sites, with 19 offices and four representative offices in Asia, Europe, Africa and America. Exports accounted for 65% of total revenue in 2019.
In addition to supplying a 90 MW power generator for the IGA project in Turkey, Aksa Power Generation has also been a part of several international megaprojects, including the Kotoka Airport in Ghana, the Ashgabat Olympic Complex, and most recently the 10 MW power plant project in the Republic of Vanuatu, a tourism paradise in Oceania.
Aksa will continue to develop and manufacture innovative products to meet the requirements of different markets and industries. The organisation’s investment in research and development, a further testament of innovation, produced the first power generator that starts a system in only eight seconds.
Aksa announced in January that it had undergone an organisational restructuring to align with the evolving market trends. The new organisational structure is centred on the board of directors.
