Ransom resigns from Perseus board due to ill health
David Ransom, nonexecutive, independent director of Perseus Mining, has tendered his resignation effective June 30, citing health reasons.
Perseus, an Australian company operating three gold mines in Africa, announced Ransom’s departure in a statement on Monday.
Ransom’s resignation marks the conclusion of a tenure that began in November 2019 and spanned nearly four years. During his time on the board, Ransom played a pivotal role in guiding Perseus Mining through a period of substantial growth and achievement, said chairperson and CEO Jeff Quartermaine.
“Dave has served Perseus with distinction, helping to guide the company through a period of significant growth. His personal style, which combines humility with outstanding professionalism, experience and knowledge, has been a very important ingredient in Perseus’s recent success. His contribution and presence will be greatly missed by his board colleagues, as well as all members of the Perseus team, both past and present, who had the privilege of working with Dave in recent years,” said Quartermaine.
Perseus will recruit a nonexecutive, independent director to replace Ransom in due course.
