Rebranded oil boosts automotive, equipment upkeep

MOBIL DELVAC The Mobil Delvac newly rebranded diesel engine oil is equipped with the same features and performance benefits
Leading oil and lubricants manufacturer Mobil has rebranded its Mobil Delvac extra high-performance diesel engine oil and launched the new brand to the South African market in December 2024, through its official South African distributor, lubricants supplier AG Lubricants.
The rebranded Mobil Delvac diesel engine oil will be organised under new pillars and naming conventions which will affect product labels and stock codes. However, the formulations, performance, and claims will remain the same as “the long-time trusted diesel engine oil”.
There are three new pillars involved with the rebranded product that will be beneficial for industry, businesses and the mining sector and their various applications. These pillars include product variations of the Mobil Delvac, namely, Ultra, Modern and Legend.
The Ultra product line will represent the latest technology for “maximum productivity”;
the Modern product line is designed to enhance productivity and protection for vehicles and equipment acquired within the last decade; and the Legend product line will focus on enhanced protection for older engines.
According to AG Lubricants commercial manager Ernest Roux, the new branding “paves the way for advanced product solutions and [enables] a technology evolution”.
“The market is constantly changing. We need to ensure we keep up with its rapid transformations by fully leveraging our assets and unlocking the potential of the brand,” says Roux.
The rebranding allows customers to effortlessly determine and select the correct solution for their specific requirements. “All products continue to deliver the same excellent performance in the same application, with the same features and performance benefits,” Roux avers.
The new product names carry the same original equipment manufacturer approvals and meet the same industry standards.
The phased roll-out of the rebranding means that the new naming conventions will be introduced as and when existing stock is depleted.
To assist customers with the transition, AG Lubricants has made a comprehensive product sheet available. The sheet details the current and new product names.
“The aim is to refresh and reinforce the Mobil Delvac brand in South Africa and facilitate the selection of the most suitable products for all applications and equipment, no matter its age or operating conditions,” Roux concludes.
