Name of the Project
Root lithium project.

Location
Ontario, Canada.

Project Owner/s
North American-focused lithium exploration and development company Green Technology Metals (GT1).

Project Description
The project is a cornerstone asset in GT1’s vertically integrated lithium strategy and is expected to provide long-term feedstock for the company’s planned lithium conversion facility in Thunder Bay.

An updated preliminary economic assessment (PEA) has outlined a robust development pathway, featuring a combination of openpit mine and underground mining methods.

The PEA proposes a 9.9-year processing operation underpinned by a 20.1-million-tonne resource grading 1.24% lithium oxide (Li2O) in the indicated category, and 10.1-million tonnes at 1.13% Li2O in the inferred category.

The processing flowsheet features a hybrid dense-media separation (DMS) and flotation concentrator designed to produce 5.5% spodumene concentrate (SC5.5), with most of the yearly production derived from the indicated resource category.

Production is estimated at 213 000 dry tonnes a year of SC5.5.

The project further offers upside potential through future optimisation and resource growth.

Potential Job Creation
Not stated.

Net Present Value/Internal Rate of Return
The project has an after-tax net present value, at an 8% discount rate, of C$889-million and an internal rate of return of 53.5%, with a payback of three years.

Capital Expenditure
Preproduction and contingency capital is estimated at C$438.5-million.

Planned Start/End Date
Not stated.

Latest Developments
Owing to the favourable outcomes of the standalone PEA, GT1 will proceed with activities to advance to a prefeasibility study, focusing on mine geotechnical and metallurgical testwork, as well as flowsheet optimisation, and governmental and community early engagement to ensure permitting requirements and community expectations are well understood.

Key Contracts, Suppliers and Consultants
None disclosed.
