Vertical safety systems company RopeCrew is a highly experienced and dynamic rope access company that offers industrial and offshore rope access services and work at height training.

Established in 2010 by CEO Gerrie du Plessis, the company offers training in all forms of industrial work at height for fall arrest and rope access. The company is an accredited Services SETA training provider and is registered with the Institute for Working at Height and the Department of Higher Education Training. RopeCrew’s training courses are targeted at the construction, utility, telecom, manufacturing, municipal, mining and oil and gas industries.

The company specialises in high access building maintenance and installation projects and its rope access services include building renovation, painting, building maintenance, high access cleaning and signage installation. Its impressive portfolio covers projects across South Africa and other African countries such as Malawi, Namibia, Gabon, Angola, Kenya, Nigeria, Swaziland and Lesotho. Over the years, RopeCrew has trained numerous construction tradesmen including plasterers, painters, electricians, sign installers and commercial cleaners as rope access technicians to form part of its rope access teams for building renovation and refurbishment projects.

RopeCrew’s offshore division offers a range of rope access and rigging services to the offshore oil and gas sector. Over the past five years, the company has established a strong reputation as a preferred service provider in this industry. Its specialised services are focused around offshore construction, offshore rigging and related consulting services. These services are complemented with extensive experience gained through its involvement in projects along the West African Coastline, Singapore, South China Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. Notable projects include the mooring and commissioning of FPSO Lam Son in Vietnam; the riser changeout of FPSO Girassol in Angola; and the decommissioning and commissioning of Alba Marina in Italy.
