Name of the Project
Sage Plain potash project.

Location
San Juan County, Utah, in the US.

Project Owner/s
Potash exploration company Sage Potash.

Project Description
A preliminary economic assessment (PEA), published in September 2025, has highlighted the potential for robust project economics, a significant domestic resource base, and growth potential to establish a scalable and sustainable potash production hub in the US.

The PEA estimates an inferred mineral resource of 298-million million tonnes in in situ sylvinite, equating to about 118-million tonnes of potassium chloride within a 2 400 m radius of drilled wells.

The proposed project includes the construction of a 300 000 t/y potash plant with an initial development plan of seven caverns, expanding to 15 caverns over the first five years of production.

Total production over the 20-year life-of-mine is estimated at 5.63-million tonnes.

Potential Job Creation
The project is expected to create about 100 jobs.

Net Present Value/Internal Rate of Return
The PEA highlights an after-tax unlevered net present value, at an 8% discount rate, of $502-million and an internal rate of return of 39%, with a payback within five years.

Capital Expenditure
Initial capital expenditure is estimated at $155-million.

Planned Start/End Date
Not stated.

Latest Developments
None stated.

Key Contracts, Suppliers and Consultants
