Engineering group Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions has received its biggest AutoMine solutions order yet.

The company has been awarded a contract by Chilean mining company Codelco to install an AutoMine load and haul automation system valued at SKr250-million at the El Teniente mine.

Additionally, the company was also awarded a load and haul equipment order from the same company valued at SKr150-million, bringing the total value of the orders to SKr400-million.

The contract will run from 2022 to 2027, and will include Sandvik supplying Toro TH663i trucks and Sandvik LH514 loaders, as well as an AutoMine fleet system, which is capable of being scaled to support up to 32 machines.

Sandvik’s automation systems allow for autonomous and tele-remote operation of a range of loaders and trucks, providing advanced traffic control capabilities and a range of interfaces for infrastructure integration.
