Multinational mining and metals processing group Sibanye-Stillwater reports that it has improved its broad-based black economic empowerment (BBBEE) rating to Level 4, from Level 6 in 2023 and Level 8 in 2021.

Companies listed on the JSE are required to prepare a yearly compliance report prepared under Section 13G (2) of the BBBEE Act.

“Reaching a Level 4 BBBEE accreditation is pleasing and is recognition of both our journey of transformation and delivering on our vision to create superior shared value for all our stakeholders,” says Sibanye CEO Neal Froneman.

Sibanye, which is listed on the JSE and the NYSE, owns and operates platinum group metals (PGM) and gold mines in South Africa, as well as PGM mining and recycling operations in the US; lithium and nickel assets in Europe; and zinc and copper assets in Australia.
