JSE- and NYSE-listed miner Sibanye-Stillwater has once again made it onto British financial organisation the Financial Times Stock Exchange (FTSE) Russell Group’s sustainability index.

The FTSE4Good Index is compiled by FTSE Russell as a global sustainable investment index series designed to identify companies that demonstrate strong environment, social and governance (ESG) practices, which are measured against international standards.

The FTSE4Good indexes are used by a variety of market participants to create and assess responsible investment funds and other products.

FTSE Russell’s evaluations are based on performance in areas such as corporate governance, health and safety, anticorruption practices and climate change.

“We are pleased about our consistent inclusion in the FTSE4Good Index since 2016. In 2024, we achieved an eighty-fifth percentile ranking in the industry classification benchmark super sector for basic resources, surpassing both industry and subsector average scores in the main ESG pillars.

“This ranking endorses our purpose of safeguarding global sustainability through our metals and energy solutions,” comments Sibanye CEO Neal Froneman.
