Be it Hong Kong, Bolivia, Chile, Iraq, Palestine or Lebanon mass, and often violent, demonstrations have become an almost daily occurrence. Each demonstration has been sparked by a particular localised issue, from the proposed extradition legislation in Hong Kong, to a hike in subway fares in Chile. However, the mostly young people participating are also united by several common themes, including demands for increased political freedoms and accelerated climate action and calls for reduced inequality and corruption.
