Exploration and development company Skeena Resources has reported another permitting milestone at its 100%-owned Eskay Creek gold/silver project in British Columbia, submitting a joint application under the province’s Mines Act and Environmental Management Act for review.

The Vancouver-based company said the permit application was filed with the BC Major Mine Office and would be jointly reviewed with the Tahltan Central Government. The upload of the application began on April 22 and was completed on April 30.

“We are proud to announce that we have filed both the revised environmental assessment application and the BC Mines Act and Environmental Management Act application in close succession,” said CEO Randy Reichert. “This achievement is noteworthy within the industry and demonstrates our commitment to advancing the project according to our timeline.”

Skeena anticipates that it will receive the environmental assessment certificate and the amended authorisations under the Mines Act and Environmental Management Act in the fourth quarter of 2025. These approvals would mark a significant step toward the planned restart of operations at Eskay Creek, which previously operated as one of Canada’s highest-grade gold mines.

Skeena is targeting production of 260 000 oz of gold and 7.65-million ounces of silver for 370 000 oz of gold equivalent a year.
