Stemlock SA specialises in the manufacturing and supply of non-explosive blasting accessories. We have an extensive range of products aimed at servicing the mining / blasting industry
One of our products, the Stemlock gasbag is a self-inflating borehole plug that is used to block or seal a hole at any depth.
What are its applications?
- They are made for 76mm to 381mm diameter holes.
- There is no need for an air compressor, for the bags self inflate chemically. There is no leakage because the Gas Bag is sealed during manufacture.
- There is no heat produced during inflation and the ingredients are not carcinogenic.
- Using the Gas Bag for air column blasting techniques can make substantial savings of up to 35% in explosives costs.
What makes the product unique?
- It is made of specially woven polypropylene material to suit various applications and customer needs.
- It is used in all open pits

Stemlock SA does not have the history of the product yet it is believed that this product dates back as far as 1988.
