Developer Super Copper is continuing to advance its flagship Chilean project as copper prices surpass $5.20/lb, reinforcing the metal’s critical role in the global energy transition.

The Vancouver-based company has completed an oversubscribed financing round and is moving forward with exploration, CEO Zachary Dolesky said in a statement Thursday.

“The copper market is signaling a clear trend: demand for this essential metal is increasing, fuelled by electrification and innovation,” Dolesky said. “Super Copper is well-positioned to seize this opportunity.”

The company’s Cordillera Cobre project has reported high-grade surface samples with copper grades of up to 10.3% and silver content reaching 296 g/t. Super Copper is finalising a geophysical survey and securing permits ahead of an expected drill programme.

Beyond exploration, Super Copper’s material science division is developing a proprietary biopolymer technology aimed at improving copper processing while reducing environmental impact. The company is working with MetaFLO on the initiative and expects to provide updates on its progress.

“We believe our integrated approach - combining traditional mineral exploration with material science development - sets us apart,” Dolesky said. “While we move forward on the ground in Chile, our biopolymer initiative is progressing with follow-up announcements to be provided.”
