Sylvania names CFO-designate
Aim-listed platinum group metals and chrome producer Sylvania, which owns assets in South Africa, will promote executive finance officer Ronel Bosman to CFO, with effect from December 1.
She will succeed Lewanne Carminati, who will be stepping down as CFO and director on November 30 to pursue personal development goals.
Bosman is a seasoned financial executive with over 20 years of experience, including more than 15 years in finance and leadership roles across sectors such as mining, facilities management and investment.
She has worked for Sylvania since 2021 and, in her current role, oversees the financial, treasury and tax functions for the South African subsidiaries, leading a team of 18 professionals.
Her previous roles at Tsebo, Archer Daniels Midlands and Thebe Investments have further demonstrated her ability to manage complex financial operations, implement cost saving initiatives and drive financial performance across diverse business environments.
“I would like to thank Lewanne for everything she has done for Sylvania over the past 16 years, five of those as CFO. Her dedication, professionalism and leadership have been exemplary, and she will be sorely missed by everyone at the company. Lewanne has greatly contributed to the ongoing success of the business and leaves us in a strong position, primed for further growth. On behalf of the board, I wish her all the very best for the future.
“I would also like to congratulate Ronel on her new, richly-deserved role. Her financial expertise, operational insight, leadership skills and knowledge of the company made her the standout candidate, and I have no doubt she’ll be successful in the role,” comments Sylvania chairperson Eileen Carr.
