The Tennant Creek Alliance, a collaboration between Tennant Minerals, CuFe and Emmerson Resources, is advancing its plans to establish a shared copper/gold processing facility in Australia’s Northern Territory, citing strong market conditions as a key driver for the venture.

With copper and gold prices holding at supportive levels and critical minerals such as bismuth and cobalt seeing price gains, the alliance believes the time is right to push forward with its “stronger together” strategy, the companies said in a joint statement on Tuesday.

The project, which aims to revive copper mining and processing in the Tennant Creek region, has also secured a letter of support from Northern Territory Mines Minister Mark Maley, acknowledging its potential economic benefits.

Since its formation in October last year, the alliance has been conducting a scoping study on processing options, including the feasibility of a multi-user facility. Technical teams, working alongside external consultants, have been assessing various aspects of the project, including resource updates, mine design, metallurgical testwork, and infrastructure requirements.

Deposits currently under review include CuFe’s Orlando and Gecko, Tennant Minerals’ Bluebird, and Emmerson Resources’ Hermitage and Jasper Hills.

The alliance noted that the proposed shared processing facility would unlock synergies across the companies’ assets, reducing operational and capital costs.
