Traka Africa to launch next-gen key management systems in 2023 providing enhanced security, serviceability, traceability
Traka Africa mining sector specialist Nicolai Van Zyl speaks to Creamer Media at this year's Electra Mining expo.
Global leader in electronic key and equipment solutions Traka Africa will be launching next-generation key management systems in 2023, which will provide enhanced security, serviceability and traceability for its customers and resellers.
In addition to the launch, Traka Africa has “aggressive expansion plans” for the next five years, during which time the company will be focusing on further expanding into sub-Saharan Africa by focusing on its market sector presence in South Africa in the mining, banking, critical infrastructure and data centre sectors.
“We intend to achieve this via our partner network and experience centre which serves as a hub for knowledge sharing, training, support and most importantly collaboration between our customers and partners. We are continually innovating and adding features and functionality to our TrakaWEB and Traka Touch technologies ensuring our customers recognise value and a real return on their investment” the company’s mining sector specialist Nicolai Van Zyl says.
Traka Africa, part of the ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions division of access solutions provider ASSA ABLOY, Traka Africa was formed in 2001 and boasts an employee count of 32 and over 400 in Traka ASSA ABLOY worldwide.
The company offers a host of solutions, including asset management for laptops, mobiles, tablets, radios, gas detection instruments and explosives process control; as well as the TrakaWEB enterprise software platform – a standalone or centralized management system for more than 2 000 systems on a global footprint.
Van Zyl says the company also provides professional services, through which the company ensures that all installed systems are “professionally installed and maintained”.
The company’s value proposition, Van Zyl further adds, focuses on accountability, operational efficiency and transparency, audit and reporting capabilities, as well as delivering a tangible return on investments within an average of six to nine months.
This is critical, Van Zyl adds, considering that customers need reliability, flexibility, and research and development capabilities provided by a recognized brand that “has the ability to locally support technologies it delivers”.
Over the course of the next 12 months, however, the company is anticipating that the mining sector will see an improvement in the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy’s compliance documentation process, as well as improved management of critical asset investments.
“Traka Africa will be driving better process control with comprehensive audit reporting as it continues to integrate to existing systems, like access control, to provide better control, efficiency and a seamless operation through a central platform,” Van Zyl concludes.
