The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa has set up a ‘war room’ in a bid to improve Metrorail’s notoriously unreliably and increasingly unsafe service. The war room, which is based in Gauteng, will focus on three areas: service recovery; infrastructure availability; and the reliability of trains and their performance.
