Supplier expands into agriculture sector
INVESTING IN AGRICULTURE ISO Bearings has been investing in the supply of internationally sourced price-competitive bearing solutions for agriculture since 2016
EXPANDING RANGE ISO Bearings expansion into agriculture wholesale supply looks to include the supply of a coulter hub bearings range as a robust and affordable solution for use on a ploughshare
Amid increased demand for wholesale bearing solutions in the agriculture sector, Boksburg-based wholesale bearings supplier ISO Bearings is actively looking to increase its supply into the sector.
“ISO Bearings has noted potential for growth in the agriculture sector. As a result, the company has been progressively investing in the supply of internationally sourced price-competitive bearing solutions for agriculture since 2016,” explains ISO Bearings GM Bennie van Niekerk.
Part of the company’s expansion into agriculture wholesale supply is its aiming to supply a coulter hub bearings range as a robust and affordable solution for use on a ploughshare, says ISO Bearings founder and managing partner Rob Baylis.
“The coulter hub bearings will be capable of handling water, dirt and dust ingress, and of competing with and being more cost competitive than the popular bearing brands.”
He outlines that the company began work on the project a year ago and found a suitable supplier within the past six months. The coulter hub bearings are being tested at a commercial farm operation.
Baylis adds that, if product testing goes well, ISO Bearings will stock the product for next year’s planting season.
Van Niekerk emphasises that ISO Bearings ensures continual and reliable product availability and sources from its international suppliers to guarantee price competitiveness.
The company is the South African importer and distributor of the ISO and Chinese bearings manufacturer LYC bearings brands and ancillary equipment.
The company’s product portfolio offers solutions to the mining, agriculture, general engineering, earthmoving, food processing, railways and maritime industries, besides others.
ISO Bearings was established in 2007 to supply the South African market with an alternative bearing brand offering that met market demand for top-quality, affordable products. The company emphasises that all ISO bearings are manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001 and 9002 standards.
LYC Bearing Corporation supplies its LYC-branded products, which include self-aligning ball bearings, thin section bearings and railway bearings, to high-profile clients, such as wind turbine company Vestas, steel producer ArcelorMittal, machine industry company Metso, engineering firm Sandvik and manufacturing company Terex.
ISO Bearings’ ISO-certified products include agricultural bearings, angular contact bearings, bearing units, deep-groove ball bearings, gravity rollers, miniature bearings, needle bearings, plumber blocks, rod-end bearings, shaft-mounted gearboxes, transmission chains, couplings, diesel engines, V-belts, V-pulleys, taper bushes, sprockets, weld-on hubs, seals, oil seals, O-rings and circlips.
“ISO Bearings prides itself on regular stock procurement and replenishment, resulting in short lead times and excellent stock availability,” concludes Van Niekerk.
