Project Description
Rio Tinto has declared a maiden inferred mineral resource of 503-million tonnes at 0.45% copper equivalent at the Winu project.

This includes a higher-grade component of 188-million tonnes at 0.68% copper equivalent at a cut-off grade of 0.45% copper equivalent.

A new zone of gold-dominant mineralisation about 2 km east of the Winu deposit has also been discovered.

Latest Developments
Rio Tinto is continuing to work with the traditional owners to progress the project, which remains subject to all the required approvals. 

Rio Tinto has indicated that drilling, studies and fieldwork to advance the key environmental permitting and project agreement negotiations with Nyangumarta and the Martu remain a priority.
