Workforce Staffing Namibia, a leading provider of specialised workforce solutions, is bolstering its operations to address the growing needs of the country's burgeoning Oil & Gas, Renewables, Green Hydrogen, Mining and Construction sectors. These sectors are driving unprecedented demand for skilled and semi-skilled labour.

Workforce Staffing Namibia has experienced significant growth in its talent pool, driven by a surge in candidates seeking opportunities in these key industries. Since the beginning of the year, the organisation has expanded its database by over 50%, highlighting a talent pool of unskilled, semi-skilled and qualified professionals. This influx of individuals enables Workforce Staffing Namibia to effectively meet the increasing demands in these expanding sectors with a strong focus on localisation, while supporting projects with a skilled and ready workforce.

Says Julien Karambua, Country Manager at Workforce Staffing Namibia, “Namibia has a rapidly growing pipeline of projects within sectors such as Oil & Gas and Energy, and with our extensive experience and access to skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled labour, we match the appropriate talent with specific roles and projects, thereby facilitating project acceleration.

“Importantly, our recruitment process is fully compliant, and we have the capability and capacity to serve clients throughout Namibia, backed by a strong recruitment, administration, and operations team. Ethics is the cornerstone of this, and we have always emphasised that we do not charge candidates recruitment fees when either applying for a role or when a position is secured.

A distinct advantage is that Workforce Staffing Namibia handles all administrative processes, including background checks and medical assessments, ensuring efficient onboarding and deployment of staff.

Additionally, the company possesses expertise in legal compliance, managing all local statutory obligations such as taxes (PAYE), as well as VET levies, social services, and ECF levies. The company also handles injury-on-duty cases and industrial relations matters on behalf of their clients, enabling them to focus on their core business whilst their advanced technology also provides clients with essential data and reporting to measure efficiency.

Closing the skills gap is all important to Workforce Staffing Namibia and its comprehensive approach includes extensive on-the job training programmes to upskill the local workforce. This training focuses on crucial skills for the Oil & Gas, Energy, Mining and Construction sectors, encompassing artisan training and leadership development to further improve these employees’ employability. If efforts to find local skills are exhausted, and expats are recruited, this is accompanied by a transfer of skills programme. These interventions will close the skills gap for future work opportunities and projects over time.

Workforce Staffing Namibia's commitment extends beyond simply filling positions. The company is dedicated to building a skilled and sustainable Namibian workforce for the long term, fostering strong relationships with local communities.

The company demonstrates its commitment to its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy through its stakeholder engagement plan. Viren Sookhun, Managing Director at Workforce Staffing Namibia, explains that their sustainable ESG model from South Africa is now being implemented in Namibia.

He says, “This model supports informal businesses by providing entrepreneurial and financial guidance. For instance, informal vendors at project sites where our resources are being deployed receive assistance to acquire essential business skills, enabling them to grow their businesses, contribute to their communities, and transition to formal business operations.”

“Our strategic goal is to become the preferred partner for turnkey employment services in the Oil & Gas, Renewables, Green Hydrogen, Mining and Construction sectors value chain, which we aim to follow beyond Namibia, including further international expansion.”
