ASX-listed Yari Minerals has declared a maiden Joint Ore Reserve Committee-compliant indicated coal resource of 33.74-million tonnes at its Rolleston South coal project in Queensland’s Bowen Basin.

The estimate follows additional drilling completed between November and December 2025, which comprised four holes totalling 1 287.9 m. The company said the new data improved confidence in seam continuity and geological interpretation.

The drilling programme has also lifted Yari’s total coal resource by 17% to about 223-million tonnes, including 193.8-million tonnes in the inferred category.

Yari reported that recent drilling intersected thick, continuous coal seams consistent with previous results, including shallow coal at a depth of 48.9 m. Core from one hole has been submitted for laboratory coal quality testwork.

Ground conditions restricted access to some drill pads, with the remaining holes scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2026.

“The recent drilling intersected coal at very shallow depths, highlighting the potential for near-surface mining opportunities,” commented MD Courtney Taylor.

He added that the project’s location in a well-established part of the Bowen Basin, with access to rail and port infrastructure, supported its development potential.

Further drilling and coal quality results are expected in the coming months.
