Anson discovers high-grade critical minerals at Ajana

Minerals exploration company Anson Resources has discovered extensive mineralisation of gallium, indium, germanium and barium at its Ajana project, in Western Australia.

The discovery of these critical minerals, Anson says, will add significant economic value to the zinc/lead/silver resource being estimated by a third-party metallurgical consultant.

The results were obtained by resampling the high-grade pulps still stored at the laboratory from the previous two drilling programmes at the Ethel Maude and Surprise prospects.

A total of 127 samples were re-assayed for critical minerals and based on the successful results, Anson has decided to re-assay for critical minerals through all the mineralised zones intersected in the drilling programmes at both prospects.

China is currently the world’s number-one supplier of gallium, used in semi-conductors, LEDs and mobile phones, among other uses. In August last year, China cancelled all exports.

The federal and Western Australian governments have pledged funding and support packages to incentivise the development of Western Australia’s critical minerals industry.
