London-listed Arc Minerals has completed the first phase of an exploration drilling campaign on its Virgo project, which is located within the Kalahari Copperbelt, in Botswana.

The company drilled eight holes totalling 3 023 m using reverse circulation and core diamond drilling on the PL135 licence.

A total of 309 samples have been shipped for assay and drilling has since moved to another part of the Virgo project area – the PL162 licence – which will comprise about six holes.

The PL135 licence is surrounded on three sides by the prospecting licences of Khoemacau Copper Mining, where economic grades of copper mineralisation have been identified.

The Virgo licences cover an overall area of 210 km2 within the Central Structural Corridor of the copperbelt.
