Aim-listed Atlantic Lithium on July 12 confirmed that the application for the grant of the mining lease in respect of its Ewoyaa lithium project had been submitted to the Ghanaian Parliament.

The company said the necessary Parliamentary process was now under way for Parliament to ratify the mining lease.

Further, the company reported that the Ghanaian Minerals Commission and Chief Inspector of Mines had given it authorisation to resume operations at Ewoyaa.

This follows the death of an employee at the project site on July 9 and a subsequent investigation by the authorities into the circumstances that led to the fatality.

Atlantic said it was taking a steady approach to resuming operations, ensuring alignment with the recommendations made by the Minerals Commission.

“Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of our teammate, and we continue to offer our full support to all those affected,” it added.
