Barrick completes name change, elects directors
NYSE- and TSX-listed Barrick Gold Corporation has completed the change of its name to Barrick Mining Corporation and Société minière Barrick in French, after receiving shareholder approval at its annual and special meeting of shareholders on May 6.
Trading in the company’s common shares will start on the stock exchanges it is listed on under its new name on May 9.
The ticker symbol for the Barrick common shares listed on the NYSE will be changed to B from GOLD at the start of trading on May 9, while the Barrick common shares will continue to trade under the ABX ticker symbol on the TSX.
Further, the nominees for the 2025 annual and special meeting of shareholders were elected as directors of Barrick.
They include Helen Cai, Isela Costantini, Brian Greenspun, Brett Harvey, Anne Kabagambe, Loreto Silva, Ben van Beurden and Pekka Vauramo as independent directors. John Thornton serves as chairperson and Barrick Mining president and CEO Mark Bristow serves as a non-independent director on the board.
