Name of the Project
Bomboré gold mine Stage 2 expansion.

Location
Central Burkina Faso.

Project Owner/s
Orezone Gold Corporation.

Project Description
The Bomboré mine achieved commercial production on its oxide operations on December 1, 2022, and is now focused on its staged hard-rock expansion that is expected to materially increase yearly and life-of-mine gold production from the processing of hard-rock mineral reserves. The processing complex comprises a six-million-tonne a-year oxide plant.

Orezone plans to expand production by building an independent hard-rock plant adjacent to the oxide plant that is in operation. Stage 1 of the hard-rock expansion under construction will provide a hard-rock processing capacity of 2.5-million tonnes a year, and will increase the overall gold production profile at Bomboré to between 170 000 oz/y and 185 000 oz/y.

The Stage 2 expansion will increase the hard-rock plant throughput to five-million tonnes a year through the addition of processing units within the Stage 1 footprint. These primarily comprise four additional carbon-in-leach tanks, an oxygen plant, ball mill, thickener and pebble crusher. The Stage 2 expansion is forecast to increase the overall gold production profile at Bomboré to between 220 000 oz/y and 250 000 oz/y.

Potential Job Creation
The Stage 2 expansion will create several hundred new employment opportunities during construction, in addition to the estimated 2 400 direct local jobs that currently support existing operations.

Net Present Value/Internal Rate of Return
Not stated.

Capital Expenditure
Preliminary cost estimates for this Stage 2 expansion are from $90-million to $95-million.

Planned Start/End Date
First gold from the Stage 1 hard-rock plant is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025, with the targeted achievement of nameplate capacity by the end of 2025. Stage 2 has a construction period of 14 months. In the current record gold price environment, Orezone is evaluating an earlier start for Stage 2 by up to two years, allowing for completion of the Stage 2 expansion construction by late 2026.

Latest Developments
