Uranium company Boss Energy on Friday announced the appointment of COO Matt Dusci to MD and CEO, succeeding Duncan Craib, who would step down at the end of September.

Craib would start as a nonexecutive director from January 1.

Chair Wyatt Buck thanked Craib for his leadership of the company over the past eight-and-a-half years. “Under Duncan’s leadership, Boss has generated considerable growth for its shareholders and has transitioned from an exploration and development company to an ASX200-listed company,” he said.

“Duncan has led Boss from a micro-cap developer to being one of the few uranium producers in Australia. We look forward to continuing to work with him in his new capacity as a nonexecutive director."

Commenting on Dusci's appointment, Buck said the board believed that his operational, technical and industry experience would stand Boss in good stead.

Since joining the company in September 2024 as COO, Dusci has overseen the successful ramp-up of Honeymoon operations. He has more than 25 years of experience in all facets of the resources and mining industry. This includes exploration, technical studies, operations, public markets, joint venture management, corporate governance, strategy and executive leadership. For the ten years before joining Boss, Dusci held several executive positions at IGO Limited, including acting CEO, COO and chief growth officer. Prior to joining IGO, Dusci held senior management positions at PMI Gold, Gold Fields, and WMC Resources.

Craib said: “It has been an honour steering Boss on the path from project development to production, making Honeymoon Australia’s only new operating uranium mine in the past ten years."

“I have no doubt Matt will do an outstanding job as managing director. His significant technical capability and vast operating experience will be invaluable as Boss continues to ramp up production.
