Felix Gold makes new senior appointments
ASX-listed Felix Gold has appointed two senior executives to strengthen its management team as the company advances towards development and planned operations in the US.
The company on Monday announced the appointment of Dan Brearley as development and operations VP and Dougal Elder as CFO, with both appointments effective from February 16, 2026.
Brearley brings more than 25 years’ experience in mining project development, construction and operations. He was most recently COO at Chalice Mining, where he led the development of the Gonneville palladium/nickel/copper project.
His previous roles include GM of projects at Evolution Mining and expansion manager at Barrick Gold, where he led the $1.3-billion Pueblo Viejo expansion. Earlier in his career, Brearley spent eight years at Newcrest Mining delivering large capital projects.
Brearley holds qualifications in civil engineering from the University of Southern Queensland.
Elder joins Felix Gold from Eleva Lithium, formerly Sayona Mining, where he served as CFO. During his tenure, he delivered the $670-million cross-border merger with Piedmont Lithium and the company’s concurrent Nasdaq listing.
At Sayona, Elder managed equity capital raisings totalling more than $200-million and established financial reporting, governance and commercial frameworks to support the company’s transition to production.
He is a chartered accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Queensland. He is also a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
