Project Owner/s
Vedanta Zinc International (VZI).
 
Project Description

It is envisioned that the smelter will treat all zinc concentrate from the Gamsberg operation. 

A phased approach will be used. 

In Phase 1, 300 000 t/y will be processed by repeating the available Hindustan Zinc Limited, or HZL, smelter design incorporating the necessary modifications required to treat Gamsberg concentrate.

Partner selection is in progress for various engineering, procurement and construction packages.
