Gilbarco showcasing innovative fuelling solutions at Electra Mining
Gilbarco Veeder-Root (GVR) aims to evolve as a comprehensive provider of fuelling solutions, site control and fleet management technology for Africa’s industrial and mining sectors. By addressing the unique challenges of African businesses and through continuous innovation and a commitment to safety, efficiency, and sustainability, GVR seeks to maximise uptime and profitability, empowering businesses to thrive and positioning itself as a trusted partner in driving progress in Africa’s industrial and mining sectors.
Efficiency and accuracy are crucial in fuel management, and GVR offers state-of-the-art solutions to meet these needs. Its comprehensive range of tools ensures companies stay ahead in managing their fuel assets effectively. Wetstock management is at the core of GVR’s offerings. With FAFNIR’s VISY Command automatic tank gauging and Veeder Root’s EMR4 electronic meter registers, companies can prevent theft, monitor fuel variations, and obtain real-time data for fuel delivery and dispensing. These tools ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while delivering comprehensive reports for operational efficiency.
For mobile tank applications, FAFNIR’s TORRIX, the most adaptable level sensor in range, can be used across a multitude of sophisticated level measurement applications and provides real-time monitoring and management of fuel tanks. This tool helps track fuel inventory, detect discrepancies, and send alerts, ensuring that mobile assets are managed efficiently.
Enhancing security and efficiency, the Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) system with Gilbarco’s unique micro geo-zoning offering Accutrip+ and automated work allocation allows individual mining sites to be zoned according to mining activity. The telematics information generated by the devices fitted on the mine’s fleet can, through GPS tracking, calculate the amount of time each vehicle spent in each activity zone. Adding to this system, RFID technology identifies vehicles at the pump automatically. This eliminates manual data entry, reducing errors and enhancing fleet management through detailed tracking and reporting.
Cloud connectivity with DataFlex360 further enhances these systems by integrating them with cloud-based platforms. This feature enables remote access and real-time monitoring, allowing data to be securely stored and accessed from anywhere. It improves decision-making and operational efficiency through comprehensive data analytics and reporting.
At the heart of its offering is the eNhanceOne Controller, the central unit that streamlines fueling operations. It integrates various fueling authorisation methods and supports multiple fuel dispensers, providing precise monitoring and reporting to optimise efficiency and security.
GVR’s technology provides a full audit trail required for eligibility of a South African Revenue Service rebate and its reporting platform simplifies logbook and data gathering required for VAT Returns, enabling successful rebate claims and return on investment.
