The Canadian Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry has extended the national security review period for the takeover of Fission Uranium by Australia’s Paladin Energy, now set to conclude on December 30.

In October, the Canadian government initiated the review of the C$1.14-billion transaction under the Investment Canada Act (ICA).

Fission has cautioned that there is no certainty that the transaction will receive ICA clearance within the extended timeframe - or at all.

Fission owns the Patterson Lake South Uranium property, located in the Athabasca basin.
