Production resumes at Savannah

PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Nickel miner Panoramic Resources has resumed nickel/copper/cobalt concentrate production at its Savannah project, in Western Australia, after successfully repairing the filter press.

In mid-June, the miner suspended ore processing and concentrate production at Savannah following the identification of the crack. The company initiated a short-term repair while a new fabricated pressure plate was being organised, however, the short-term repair had proven unsuccessful.

In parallel, Panoramic expedited the fabrication of a new filter press head unit.

Panoramic said on Monday that the processing plant had now returned to normal operations with the processing of underground ore. Stoping has also resumed in the underground mine.
