Rebecca-Roe gold project, Australia

Name of the Project
Rebecca-Roe gold project.
Location
Western Australia.
Project Owner/s
Gold producer Ramelius Resources.
Project Description
The project will create a new mining hub in an underexplored mining region, which Ramelius plans to take advantage of with its proven hub-and-spoke model.
The mining operations will use openpit and underground mining methods. Rebecca will use an openpit method while Roe will use openpit and underground mining methods.
Gold production will average 130 000 oz/y over the nine-year life-of-mine, with a production target of 1.1-million ounces of contained gold, based predominately on measured and indicated portions of the mineral resource, with 54 000 oz drawn from inferred categories.
The processing circuit will process the Rebecca-Roe deposit at a throughput rate of three-million tonnes a year.
The tailings storage facility will comprise a two-cell paddock storage formed by multizoned earthfill embankments. The facility is designed to store 30-million tonnes of tailings at an average rate of three-million tonnes a year, with capacity to contain all supernatant and runoff from rainfall and storm events.
Potential Job Creation
Not stated.
Net Present Value/Internal Rate of Return
The project has a pretax net present value, at a 5% discount rate, of A$448-million at a gold price of A$3 500/oz. Pay back is estimated at four years.
Capital Expenditure
Total capital costs are estimated at A$190-million.
Planned Start/End Date
Mining is planned to start in September 2026 upon the receipt of the Environmental Protection Act Part V, targeted for June 2026, with plant construction to start in 2026/2027.
Production is planned to start in July 2027.
Latest Developments
The Ramelius board approved the start of a definitive feasibility study (DFS) in December 2024. A final investment decision (FID) is expected in July 2025.
The DFS will focus on progressing environmental permitting processes (Rebecca: Part V and Roe: Part IV); completing geotechnical and hydrology work on Roe underground to bring into ore reserves; refining mine designs and site layouts, as well as capital and operating costs; and exploration to bring additional ounces into the mine plan.
