Software firm helps engineers elevate their game
The ChemCAD suite, from Chemstations, provides calculations to design, analyse, and optimise chemical processes
Chempute Software, a provider of engineering software and training, is strengthening its support for engineering sectors with expanded offerings aimed at optimising design and operational efficiency.
Since its inception in 1986, Chempute has been a trusted ally to engineers, offering a comprehensive suite of software solutions and accredited training programmes.
Specialising in offerings such as process simulation, pipe stress analysis, design software for pressure vessels and heat exchanges, Chempute ensures engineers are equipped with tools needed to excel in their fields.
The company’s portfolio features leading brands including Hexagon, Chemstations, AFT, InstruCalc, and Bricsys.
Andrew Taylor, MD of Chempute, explains, “Under the Hexagon brand, Chempute represents premier software solutions such as CAESAR II for pipe stress analysis, PV Elite for pressure vessel design and analysis, and TANK for oil storage design according to API standards”.
“Our expertise also extends to plant design with CADWorx Plant Professional, now enhanced with structural, electrical, and instrumentation elements. The CADWorx Electrical and Instrumentation Design Suite is specifically engineered for streamlined workflows and precise deliverables,” he adds.
InstruCalc, recognised as a leading desktop software in the industry, specialises in instrumentation calculations and analyses. “This suite of engineering programmes excels in deriving essential engineering data and equipment requirements.”
With more than 74 programmes categorised into specialised sections, InstruCalc is used for the sizing of more than 50 distinct instruments, from control valves to relief devices. This precise sizing program not only computes dimensions for control valves, flow elements, and relief devices, but also generates data sheets for the determined parameters.
Chempute also represents Bricsys, providing modern DWG-based CAD software under the BricsCAD brand. Taylor highlights that “BricsCAD V24 introduces significant enhancements in software performance and collaboration features, catering to diverse user requirements and budget considerations. “From Lite for 2D drafting to Pro for advanced capabilities and Mechanical for mechanical design, our CAD solutions meet various engineering needs. BricsCAD BIM , meanwhile, offers an alternative Building Information Modeling workflow, focusing on the initial design phase.”
To complement its software offerings, Chempute’s South African Institution of Mechanical Engineering-accredited training programmes bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application, ensuring engineers remain at the forefront of technological advancements. “Our courses qualify for continuous professional development credits, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience,” Taylor concludes.
