Spartan confirms new gold discovery at Dalgaranga
Exploration and development company Spartan Resources has made a new gold discovery, named 'Freak', at its 100%-owned Dalgaranga gold project in Western Australia's Murchison region.
The discovery, located immediately south of the established Pepper gold deposit, marks a significant addition to Spartan's growing portfolio at Dalgaranga.
Recent surface drilling at Dalgaranga has returned multiple high-grade gold intercepts from follow-up wedge holes drilled from the parent discovery hole, DGDH093. These intercepts have confirmed the presence of a significant new mineralised zone at the Freak prospect, which remains open down-plunge.
Intersect highlights include 10.26 m at 5.37 g/t gold from 520.56 m down-hole, including 2.31 m at 13.67 g/t gold in DGDH093W3, 6.64 m at 2.35 g/t gold from 595.11 m down-hole in DGDH093W3, 20.95 m at 2.70 g/t gold from 514.7 6m down-hole in DGDH093W1 and 7.43 m at 5.30 g/t gold from 597.46 m down-hole.
The mineralisation at Freak exhibits identical alteration styles and mineralogy to the breakthrough high-grade underground discoveries made at Dalgaranga, further supporting its potential as a high-value resource. The continuity of this mineralisation, coupled with its proximity to existing infrastructure, positions the new discovery as a highly promising addition to Spartan’s development plans.
Located 110 m south of the Pepper gold deposit, the Freak prospect lies near the planned underground infrastructure currently under development at Dalgaranga. This proximity to the existing 2.5-million-tonne-a-year processing plant and surface infrastructure enhances the discovery’s potential for rapid development and integration into the broader Dalgaranga project.
