Electrical switchgear supplier Electro Mechanica (EM) launched the latest edition of its product catalogue this year. A new catalogue is launched on average every two years.

The launch was held at a customer open day in February at EM’s offices in Ormonde, Gauteng. Over 450 new products were added to the catalogue which were sourced both from its new and existing suppliers.

The company offers its clients high-quality products, sourced from leading local and international brands, all complying with recognised international safety standards and performance specifications, says EM director Richard Nobbs.

These products range from quality EM hydraulic crimping/cutting tools, pneumatic delay blocks, motor control components and electronic automation products, which can be applied to many functions or categories.

The latest catalogue covers a range of new developments across each of these various categories.

“We place the same emphasis on the continued introduction of global innovations and solutions, combined with comprehensive and personalised local support and service,” adds Nobbs.

For instance, the latest brands from companies such as European portable test and measurement instruments specialist Chauvin Arnoux are included in the 2020 catalogue. The new products also feature an upgraded contactor range from low-voltage electrical devices supplier Lovato Electric, which includes a new frame size.

Further, electronics manufacturing company Delta Electronics’ ME300 drives are econo-compact vector-controlled and offer essential built-in functionality, including multi-pump control, a built-in brake chopper, an RS-485 (Modbus), as well as support for induction motors and permanent magnet motors.

Meanwhile, the CPT PSM series of surge protection devices – which monitor the earthing system from within the actual surge protection device – provides an indication of the status of the earth loop.

This is done through multi-state light- emitting diodes, confirming that the device is installed properly, and how effective the surge protection is.

Further, industrial process products and solutions provider Socomec’s new A40 panel- mounted power-monitoring device has been designed for measuring, monitoring and reporting electrical energy.

It offers a range of functions for measuring voltage, current, power, energy and quality, and allows for the analysis of single- and three-phase loads.
