Uptick in demand for water-treatment system valves
RUNXIN RANGE The company offers flowrates from 4 500 l/hr – F56A1 manual and F63B/C automatic filter valves – to the 30 000 l/hr F112B filter and 40 000 l/hr F112A softener valves
Local demand for the Runxin water-treatment system valves has increased, despite the current business climate, says Johannesburg-headquartered boiler manufacturer and water-treatment components supplier Allmech.
“More clients are discovering how easy these valves are to use and how reliable they are,” says Allmech GM Lionel Maasdorp, adding that these reasons, in addition to easy availability, are why the company partnered with Runxin.
The company has supplied an extensive range of Runxin softener and filter valves locally over the past month.
“We sell most of the valves to original-equipment manufacturers for use in various applications in water-treatment filtration systems, dosing systems and reverse osmosis systems,” says Maasdorp, adding that installations are tailor-made to client requirements.
Most sales are completed in two days, but for installations, Allmech works on a turnaround time from order to delivery of five to ten days, depending on the equipment ordered. Installation usually takes three days depending on the site conditions and the size of the plant.
Allmech has been the sole official agent for Runxin water-treatment system valves in South Africa for 11 years.
The valves are not only easy to service, says Maasdorp, but also a cost-effective option that have proven to be more chemically resistant and robust than other brands on the market.
“The valves are produced by Chinese manufacturer Wenzhou Runxin Manufacturing Machine Co, founded in 2000. The company distributes its products to 117 countries globally,” he notes.
Allmech manages a stockholding of the most popular valves in the Runxin manual and automatic valves and ceramic ball ranges at its Benoni, Gauteng, and Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal, branches and ensures that a range of flowrates is covered.
The company offers flowrates from 4 500 ℓ/hr – F56A1 manual and F63B/C automatic filter valves – to the 30 000 ℓ/hr F112B filter and 40 000 ℓ/hr F112A softener valves.
“Having supplied the South African market since 2008, we have a good idea of what is needed. Runxin also holds a certain level of stock, while its manufacturing process is relatively quick and its support is outstanding,” states Maasdorp.
The Runxin valves arrive in South Africa fully assembled, but Allmech keeps spare parts for the models it stocks, as well as has a test bench for the testing of any repaired valves.
The company’s stockholding factors in a lead time of six to ten weeks for sea freight, but should valves be required urgently, the company can fly them in.
Testament to the longevity of Runxin valves is the various valve models, which have been in service for ten years or more, collected for display at the company’s manufacturing plant. Similarly, Allmech displays a softener valve that was in use for ten years without a service and still functions perfectly.
Allmech also has distributors in the Western Cape and Free State, supplying Runxin control valves for domestic and industrial water-treatment applications throughout the country, as well as in neighbouring States.
Its water-treatment division also supplies chemicals, reverse osmosis and demineralisation plants, as well as softeners and filters.
“We also host regular training sessions and pride ourselves on our technical support and spares supply capabilities.
“We really work hard to provide an end-to-end solution for our water-treatment clients, whether they are business owners, engineers or downstream distributors. They know they can come to us for expertise on which valve to use for a specific application, for repairs and maintenance, and for other technical input,” says Maasdorp.
Further, the Runxin valves range is a perfect fit for application in whole house water filtering systems, says water filtration products supplier East Midlands Water Company SA sales and procurement manager Paul van der Walt.
“The valves perform as required and are of good quality. Allmech has always provided us with excellent service and in receiving great service, our clients also receive great service,” he states.
