Electrical connectors manufacturer Victor Industrial – a subsidiary of Victor Group – supplies a range of products across industries for instrumentation and control.

For instance, the company supplies power line communication technology, which allows data transfer over existing power cables.

The company’s Underground Smart Grid (USG) uses the power line communication technology to provide network capabilities over electrical copper cables.

It also leverages off existing electrical infrastructure as a network data carrier to relay data such as video streaming, data traffic and network protocols.

The Victor-USG system is the only virtual local area network powerline technology that also does data encryption for security purposes. The Victor-USG system boasts a powerful 1 GB chipset with functionality such as forward error correction, automatic repeat request and alternating current cycle synchronisation.

This allows companies to meet all its networking requirements without the capital expenditure of any additional cabling infrastructure.

Victor also provides RFID scanners to various industries, which are used for cable jointing and online tracking of cable repairs.

RFID tags are placed in the cable joints when the joint is made. The user then scans the joints with the hand-held scanner to enter information such as the jointer name, time and date as well as specific tags associated with the joint. All information is uploaded to a Web service in the cloud and all information is accessible from any Internet-connected device.
