VoltVision – Supporting mining companies to overcome power issues in Africa
Established in 2021, VoltVision is a British technology company that operates globally, with offices in London and Johannesburg. VoltVision has developed ViViD, a real-time high- and medium-voltage power monitoring, reporting and analysis platform for operations teams and senior managers, transforming power data into insightful information.
VoltVision supports Tier 1 and Tier 2 mining companies, including Barrick Gold Corp, Endeavour Mining, Allied Gold, Resolute Mining and Centamin to accelerate their digital transition, reducing power consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 10%, and achieving real efficiencies across existing operations.
Digitising Power Networks
VoltVision’s team combines expertise in electrical engineering, data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) to ensure best in practice digitisation solutions for industrial services and renewable sectors. Their power management platform ViViD enables mining companies to digitise their high- and medium-voltage industrial power networks. Its unique combination of data acquisition, analysis (through the use of AI and specially designed algorithms), and visualisation helps mining companies to resolve complex power issues, by providing near real-time automated monitoring, analysis and dashboards.
ViViD Power Management Platform
ViViD’s dashboards allow management and operations teams to continuously monitor their critical electrical assets and power networks, from anywhere in the world, providing increased visibility and control. Automated meter readings mean voltage, current, harmonics, power factor and frequency can be monitored using easy to use and flexible charting, alerting and key performance indicators benchmarking.
V-CUBE
The ViViD platform is enabled by VoltVision’s V-CUBE, which is a pre-programmed, secure Internet of Things gateway that connects to existing electrical protection equipment, irrespective of its age or manufacturer. The V-CUBE releases data “trapped”
in this electrical equipment, turning “basic meters” into high resolution power analysers.
“VoltVision is proud to be working with an increasing number of leading mining companies in Africa supporting their electrical and engineering teams on their journey to becoming more responsible users of power. Our platform provides the visibility, tools and information these teams require to make better and faster decisions on a day-to-day basis, ultimately improving operational and power efficiencies,” says VoltVision MD Manoli Yannaghas.
VoltVision will be discussing its solutions at Electra Mining Africa on September 5, 2024, at 14:30 in Hall 9. Please drop by to hear more and to meet the team.
