Without Africa there can be no minerals.

Join the Future Minerals Forum on February 27 at 11:00 for a webinar, hosted in partnership with Creamer Media Webinars, which will unpack how to maximise the value and the role of intergovernmental body Africa Minerals Strategy Group.

A high-level panel of experts will discuss building a unified strategy for minerals development, which includes highlighting the formation and goals of the Africa Minerals Strategy Group, which was established one year ago to promote the sustainable extraction, production, beneficiation and commercialisation of the continent's minerals.

Other key discussion points include:

  • Ministerial roundtable outcomes on policy uniformity and regulatory frameworks;
  • The push to end exploitative practices and ensure Africa retains more value from its mineral wealth;
  • Nigeria’s leadership role in driving this agenda through the Future Minerals Forum;
  • Saudi Arabia's establishment of five mining corridors in Africa to secure minerals for its energy transition and to become a global mining player;
  • A preview of the 2025 Responsible Sourcing Guidelines;
  • The role of blockchain technology in ensuring traceability and transparency in the mineral supply chain;
  • Promoting environmentally and socially responsible approaches to resource extraction;
  • How these practices can align with Africa’s broader development goals; and
  • The continent’s growing influence in global mineral policy.
