Advisory and analytics firm Frost & Sullivan, a global strategy consulting and market intelligence firm with a long-standing presence in Africa, will again be represented by its partner and Africa CEO Hendrik Malan at this year’s Enlit Africa 2024, which will be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from May 21 to 23.

For the past 24 years, Malan has dedicated himself to understanding the Africa region and its dynamics.

Using this understanding, he supports private- and public-sector institutions to identify opportunities for growth and development, and then develop practical strategies and approaches to take advantage of these.

Malan, who has been a member of the Enlit Africa advisory board since January 2022, says this year’s event will offer attendees a “game-changing experience”.

Alongside three other industry experts, Malan will participate in a panel discussion, titled ‘Africa’s Transitional Fuel Game Changer – Natural Gas’, on May 22.

“We will unpack the role of liquified petroleum gas as a transition fuel for Africa, considering the impact of climate change and economic development pressures,” he explains.

The three other speakers are finance provider Standard Bank Oil and Gas Southern Africa head Paul Eardley-Taylor, energy investment and advisory company GLOSSOP development director Wayne Glossop, and Nigerian integrated energy solutions provider Tetracore Energy Group CEO Olakunle Williams.

“I have always been an advocate for pursuing a combination of renewable energy and liquified natural gas to address Africa’s long-term energy needs,” Malan declares.

He enthuses that Enlit Africa event will help drive connections between innovators, allow for the exploration of breakthrough technologies, and enable attendees to be part of the energy and water revolution shaping the continent’s energy and water stability.

Last year, Malan participated in a panel that explored capital projects in the energy industry, which included discussions about Africa 2063, the continent’s development blueprint to achieve inclusive and sustainable socioeconomic development.

“It is an exciting moment and a privilege to join the best minds in the industry and contribute towards Africa’s energy sector and the future potential it holds,” he concludes.
